Monkey Business: Capuchin Takes Over Office Desk at Rio's Golf Course
Surprise Office Worker Makes Himself at Home
Office workers in Brazil arrived one morning to find someone had come in early and was already hard at work. The strange thing? This employee had never actually been hired.
The new team member was diligently flipping through a notebook and handling a pen like he had a full day of meetings ahead. But this wasn't your typical office worker - it was a capuchin monkey who had wandered in from the surrounding forest near Rio's Olympic Golf Course.
A Natural at Office Culture
The small primate somehow found his way into the administrative office and made himself quite comfortable at one of the desks. He seemed remarkably prepared for corporate life, immediately grasping office culture and handling paperwork as if he were getting ready for a quarterly performance review.
Wildlife is Part of Daily Life
Interestingly, wildlife sightings aren't unusual at this location. The golf course sits on the edge of a nature reserve, where capybaras, owls, and monkeys regularly venture onto the grounds.
The staff wasn't shocked by the monkey's presence - that's just a normal Monday morning at this office. What surprised them was how quickly he adapted to the office environment!
Back to His Natural Habitat
Eventually, the environmental team stepped in. They offered the little guy a "severance package" of fresh fruit, successfully coaxing him back outside and into the forest where he belongs.
There's no word yet on whether he'll be named employee of the month, but this capuchin certainly made an impression during his brief career in office administration.
While his stint in the corporate world was short-lived, he gave office workers a story they'll be sharing at the water cooler for years to come.
