Senior Dog Goes on Solo Adventure, Ends Up at Local Bar

When a partially blind 17-year-old Shih Tzu went missing, his owner was frantic. But instead of finding him lost and alone, she discovered Bear had been welcomed as a special guest at a local bar.

Missing Senior Shih Tzu Found Having a Night Out

Bear the Shih Tzu may be nearly 17 years old, but this senior pup proved he still knows how to have a good time. Last week, the elderly dog slipped out for an unplanned solo adventure that ended at a local Milwaukee bar.

The Great Escape

While in the backyard with his owner Jenny, Bear spotted an opportunity when he noticed the back gate had been left slightly open. While Jenny wasn't looking, the clever canine made his escape. Despite being partially blind and having a heart condition, Bear managed to navigate his way out of the yard and down the street.

After about 15 minutes of searching her yard and nearby areas, a worried Jenny turned to her neighborhood social media group for help finding her missing pet.

An Unexpected Night Out

Meanwhile, Bear wasn't lost and alone at all. The adventurous pup had encountered a group of women enjoying a night out. Concerned for his safety, these kind strangers decided he shouldn't be left outside by himself.

Their solution? They invited Bear to join their pub crawl while they tried to locate his owner.

Social Media to the Rescue

One of Bear's new friends posted a photo of him on social media. This picture eventually made its way back to Jenny through the neighborhood group she had contacted earlier.

The last thing Jenny expected when searching for her missing dog was to receive a photo of Bear hanging out at the local bar!

VIP Treatment

When Jenny arrived to pick up her wandering pet, she found Bear thoroughly enjoying himself and soaking up attention from his new admirers. The bar patrons had taken excellent care of the senior dog, and he had apparently become quite popular during his brief visit.

Home Safe and Sound

Bear is now safely back home with Jenny. Though his adventure was brief, it proved that even at nearly 17 years old, this little Shih Tzu still has a taste for adventure and making new friends.

Jenny expressed her gratitude to the kind strangers who looked after Bear, ensuring he remained safe during his impromptu night on the town.
