Feline Friends Give Massages to Blind Shelter Dog

At a shelter in Morocco, cats are doing something amazing for a blind dog named Tam. They give him massages, cuddle with him while he sleeps, and rub against him so he knows they're nearby.

Shelter Cats Comfort a Special Dog Named Tam

At Sunshine Animal Refuge in Agadir, Morocco, a beautiful friendship has formed between several cats and a blind dog who needs extra care. The cats have been spotted giving gentle massages to Tam, a dog who has lived at the shelter for nine years.

Born at the Shelter

Tam was born at the refuge along with his siblings. While most of his brothers and sisters found homes as puppies, Tam and his sister remained behind. Both dogs have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a condition that requires special attention and care. Tam is also blind and often suffers from arthritis.

Cats Sense His Needs

Somehow, the shelter cats seem to understand that Tam needs extra love and support. Throughout his life, the feline residents have shown him remarkable kindness and companionship.

When Tam sleeps, two of his cat best friends always cuddle up with him. They keep him company during rest time, providing warmth and comfort. When he's awake and moving around, his cat friends make sure to rub against him. This gentle touch lets Tam know they're nearby, even though he can't see them.

A Unique Connection

The staff at Sunshine Animal Refuge often witness touching moments between the animals in their care. However, they note that Tam's relationship with the cats stands out as something truly special.

Volunteers believe the cats are drawn to Tam because of his quiet and gentle personality. In return, the cats know exactly how to make him feel loved and cared for. Their natural instinct to nurture seems perfectly matched with Tam's needs.

Supporting the Shelter

Tam, his cat friends, and hundreds of other animals receive care at the Sunshine Animal Refuge Agadir. Those who wish to help support Tam and his feline companions can do so through the refuge's website.
