Loyal Dog Travels 20 Blocks to Find Owner in Hospital
The Great Escape
A miniature schnauzer named Sissy went on an amazing journey to find her owner. She walked 20 blocks all by herself to reach the hospital where her owner was staying. This shows just how strong the bond between pets and their owners can be.
A Worried Husband
Nancy had been in the hospital for about two weeks. She was there because of problems after a recent surgery. Her husband Dale was at home taking care of their two dogs, Sissy and Barney.
One night, Dale let both dogs out in the backyard as usual. When it was time to come back inside, only Barney returned. Dale started to worry right away. He spent four hours searching for Sissy but couldn't find her anywhere.
An Amazing Journey
While Dale was looking for Sissy, she was on a mission of her own. The determined dog had traveled about 20 blocks away to the hospital where Nancy was staying.
The most surprising part? Sissy had never been to this hospital before. Yet somehow, she knew exactly where to go. Surveillance cameras caught her walking through the automatic doors of the hospital like she belonged there.
Finding Nancy
Once inside, Sissy wandered around the hospital looking for Nancy. She seemed to be having trouble finding the right elevator to take her to Nancy's room.
A security guard spotted the little dog roaming the halls. He checked her collar and called Dale. Soon, Dale and their daughter were on their way to the hospital.
A Special Reunion
When they arrived, Nancy's daughter brought Sissy up to see her mom. The nurse joked with Nancy, asking, "Did you sneak your dog in here?"
Nancy laughed and replied, "No. She snuck herself in here."
Home Safe and Sound
After the special visit, Sissy went back home with Dale. She was safe and sound, having completed her mission to check on her beloved owner.
This story shows the amazing connection between humans and their pets. Sissy's determination to find Nancy, despite never having been to the hospital before, proves just how strong love can be.
