Unexpected Guest: Seal Takes a Nap in Dutch Hotel Room

A hotel guest in the Netherlands discovered a surprise roommate - a gray seal napping in their room! Find out how this unexpected beachfront visitor was relocated after enjoying luxury accommodations.

Seal Sneaks into Hotel Room for an Impromptu Nap

A hotel guest in the Netherlands returned to their room and found an unexpected visitor making themselves at home. A little gray seal had snuck in and was taking a nap right in their room!

The Perfect Resting Spot

The seal apparently thought it had found the perfect spot to rest. Too bad the little marine mammal didn't know that hotel rooms cost money. And unfortunately, the seal didn't have any sand dollars to pay for its stay.

Hotel Staff to the Rescue

The hotel staff needed to figure out how to move their flippered freeloader to a more suitable location. They called a local animal welfare group to help with the situation. The staff had to explain they had a rogue seal in Room 7, and yes, this was definitely not a prank call.

How Did This Happen?

The hotel rooms at this beach location open directly onto the sand. The sleepy seal most likely wandered in while the door was briefly left open. The humans had no idea their room had been invaded by this ocean visitor.

The Relaxed Guest Gets Grumpy

When the rescue team arrived, they found a completely relaxed seal. The little guy was probably dreaming about what delicious treats to order from room service.

However, the seal became slightly grumpy when it realized it was being relocated. The animal made it clear it wasn't happy about the situation - perhaps planning to leave a bad review on Seal Yelp!

Back to the Beach

After checking that the seal was healthy, rescuers safely placed it into a special seal basket. They then released the animal onto a less crowded part of the beach, away from human accommodations. All was forgiven as the seal returned to its natural habitat.

Luxury Vacation Stories

Now back in the ocean, the seal is probably telling all its friends about its short luxury beachfront vacation. Maybe it's even planning its next adventure – though hopefully one that doesn't involve surprising any more hotel guests!
